About

Hi, my name is Onur Orhon. I currently live in the US, working as an art director for an interactive agency. Tuning slide is my personal web log, an online repository of observations on the things that evoke my curiosity. I make an effort to respond to feedback from everybody, so feel free to leave comments or just send me a note. Stay tuned. Tuning slide

What is a tuning slide anyway?

It is a part of a brass instrument—such as a trombone or a trumpet—that allows adjustment of the tuning of the instrument. Pulling the tuning slide out adds more length to the instrument and flattens (or lowers) its overall pitch. Pushing the tuning slide in subtracts length from the instrument and sharpens (or raises) its pitch.
